Operation Gratitude will receive up to $200 for every donated phone. Operation Gratitude will receive a minimum of $.10 for every donated phone, including damaged and outdated phones.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 15+ PHONES AND 1-14 PHONES DONATIONS OPTIONS?

When you donate 15+ phones, we pay the shipping costs, and you will automatically receive a shipment receipt for tax purposes. The receipt will detail the quantity and value of the phones processed.

When you donate 1-14 phones, you mail the phones to us. Shipment receipts are available upon request. We do not collect your information, and do not send you back any shipment summary or receipt. IS THE PERSONAL DATA ERASED FROM THE PHONES?

The information below explains our approach to personal data removal in smartphones, cell phones, iPads, and iPods.

  • For many models, SmartphoneRecycling.com performs the data erasing at the our facility. We use factory resets, specialized software, and manufacturer reset codes to erase personal data.
  • For some models, the data is erased by refurbishment companies (either GRC Wireless customers or independent refurbishers).
  • Phones that cannot be turned on or have a broken screen are sold to independent refurbishers for parts who will perform the data erasure procedure when applicable.
  • Phones without “re-use” value are shredded during our metals refining process. The personal data is erased through the destruction of the phone.

We recommend that anyone with concern about personal data should erase the phone’s memory before recycling. For most models, data erasing is a simple process, commonly found in the setup menu. Data erasing instructions can also be found in the device’s user manual. Feel free to email us at info@SmartphoneRecycling.com or call 800-203-1506 if you have any questions. While we have internal policies in place to address personal data in phones, we will not be responsible for any information left stored in the memories of phones, iPads and iPods.

SHOULD I DEACTIVATE THE SERVICE ON THE CELL PHONES?
